The SSV-300 SignStream Media Player is a network appliance for broadcasting up to three HDTV digital signage channels and display control commands over standard RF coax. Hosting up to three SSM-ATSC HDTV Modulator Cards, the SSV-300 plays HD media from an internal 250 GB SATA hard drive (over 1,500 minutes of ATSC media), with a separate 80 GB SATA II drive for the Window XP Pro operating system. The compact player is designed for rack mounting in three rack spaces, with front-panel access to power, status and USB ports.
SignStream Media Express software runs media playlists and display control scheduling from XML data files. When the playlist for one card is changed, the card restarts the list to the first file - other cards operate without interruption. The server can restart all playlists approximately 45 seconds after a Windows soft restart is initiated. SignStream media is stored in the form of 1080i ATSC MPEG2 Transport Streams. One or more SSM-ATSC Modulator Cards output the streams as both an off-air HD ATSC channel (14-22,) and analog NTSC channel (2-13, 95-99), or as cable frequencies. While the HD output is formatted for 16:9 aspect ratio, the 4:3 analog channel can be formatted for cropped, letterbox, or full-screen presentation.
Integrated media/display control Events can be launched manually or run by schedule. An Alerts page can interrupt programming for emergency alerts, running appropriate videos, powering on displays, and changing channels.
